Dan Iverson grew up in South Minneapolis MN where he
learned at a young age that by knocking on doors in
his neighborhood he could make money shoveling snow
in the winter, mowing lawns and washing cars in the
summer.

He saved his first dollar before he was even sure how
to count the change. He saved up and bought his own
skateboard when he was in grade school. He learned
then that he could have anything he wanted if he was
willing to work and earn the money for it.

After graduating from high school, he bought a
motorcycle that he drove through a snow storm south
down to Texas and then across to California where he
worked for 3 months making pizza’s while he traveled
up and down the coast until the time for his enlistment
in the Marines was ready to begin.

In the Marines he fixed F-4 fighter jets and did 3
tours overseas to Japan, Korea, Okinawa and the
Philippines.

While he was in the Marines he studied on his own and
passed all the FAA exams to work on commercial
aircraft and when he got out, he worked for Northwest
Airlines for 8 years back in Minnesota where he was
from.

During this time he took writing classes in the
evening at the University of Minnesota.

His first day at Northwest Airlines he knew this wasn’t
for him and was determined to start a business of his
own. He has tried many different things such as
Executive Recruiting, moved to Utah and started a
Travel Magazine, but it wasn’t until 1995 that he
stumbled across his thing: Computers.

It was while working as a sales person for ESI
Communications that he discovered that he could
organize and systematize his sales process and became
the top first year rep in the history of the company.

This is also where he learned about his aptitude for
technology and began his journey of learning about CTI
(Computer Telephony Integration) and about his MCSE
(Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer).

After gaining some great experience working for several
different companies and moving to Atlanta GA he started
the company Your Computer Guy in 1999 and has been
completely self employed since.

Dan was introduced to the concepts of Network
Marketing at the age of 22 and has always been
fascinated with the idea of helping others learn how
to earn their own freedom by starting their own home
based businesses.

He has also always found the high failure rates of
these businesses unacceptable. He watched from afar
for a long time because of the fraud and deceptions
that were so common place for so many years.

He believes the internet has opened a whole new world
of opportunity for people who wish to make money from
their homes. He is excited by how the Internet has
leveled the playing field for many who were previously
excluded.

He also believes the Internet is still in its early
stages, a lot like the frontier and Wild West was in
the United States. Lots of opportunity, much to be
discovered, not a place for the faint of heart, buyer
beware.

Here are some of the foundations that Dan thinks are
necessary for you to build your successes.

First, business is competition so for you to win your
share of the business, you have to bring real value to
the market place. The question you have to ask yourself
is why would anyone want to do business with me?

Expect that early on, the answer to that question
often times may not be very strong and know that you
are going to have to work and learn the things that
will better qualify you to be a leader.

Second, business is a team sport. No one has ever
been successful in business on their own. It’s like
trying to create the perfect recipe.

Your ability to build relationships and pick the members
of your team, and to learn and improve from your mistakes
are the ingrediance you will be working with trying to
perfect your recipe.

Third, there is no get rich quick. Yes, you can stumble
across something that can make you lots of money quick,
but will it last is the true test.

If you don’t develop skills and knowledge, make yourself
an asset of value, any boon will be follow by fear and
failure.

You will always reap what you’ve sown. Life is a
journey, if your not enjoying the path that you are on,
choose another, life is too short. You get to choose
how you live each day of your life.

Finally, never quit: I believe that we are eternal
beings, so if you need a break take one, if you need to
try another direction do it, if your not sure what to
do, take some time and figure it out. You may need to
try many different things until you find the right thing
for you.

But there is no quitting.

Live your life like your going to live for thousands
of years, because you are. Whatever is in your way,
or holding you back and you can’t seem to get past it,
ask for help, try to look at it a different way, find
out what you are suppose to learn from it.

If you are going to live thousands of years, then
wherever you are right now is just temporary. What
you believe, what you learn and how you’ve grow as a
person is what will color your daily life. Strive for
greatness, while outwardly expressing your humility.
